Configure your Mailbox on Mail Client.

Configure your Mailbox on Mail Client.

How does the mailbox get configured?

There are few protocols responsible for this.

  •          POP 3
  •          IMAP
  •          MAPI
POP 3

This helps us to configure your mailbox on a mail client and enable you to view the data.

While configuring the mailbox we require the below details.

  •       POP server name
  •       SMTP server name
  •       User credentials
  •       Incoming port
  •       SMTP port

Once your mailbox is configured you can download all the data to your local machine in .PST file.

This type of configuration enables you delete the mails once they are downloaded to your machine.

Limitation – the mails sent from your mail client will not reflect on your mail server, because POP protocol does not replicate back. In other words it simply

IMAP

This type of configuration helps you with syncing the send item from mail client with server.

Limitation – this does not syncs Calendar, contacts and tasks from the server neither replicates back.

MAPI (Messaging Application Program Interface)

Microsoft Windows program interface that enables you to send e-mail. In other words this type of configuration helps to directly connect with Exchange mailbox.

This helps us to sync all the data from client to server.

Mail, calendar, contacts, tasks.

Block users from saving data on System Drive on Intune Managed Device

Recently i delivered a project for Intune Deployment and came up with a requirement as follows End Users Should not be able to save data locally on C or D Drive, instead they should be allowed to save data only in One Drive for business (synced with System)  Based on the requirement i did my research and found the Following. its possible to control the Local System settings on a Azure AD joined Machine and Managed by Intune. User can change the File Ownership to personal if the WIP policy is set to Allow Override. User can save the file locally on the system User will not be able to copy the data from work file to Personal file if policy is set to Allow override. Unenlightened apps cannot differentiate between personal and corporate...
